Andi Gadó

My parents never sought Christ, but my grandparents went to the Roman Catholic church at Christmas time. I heard little about Jesus, but I came to love Him. As I grew up, I sought Him everywhere I went and everywhere I could go and hear of him. I talked to Jehovah Witnesses. I went to the Faith Church. I went to a group where a woman was a preacher. I even sought out the denominational Baptists. Everywhere I went I felt I needed to move on. I knew I needed to find something that would lead my life. Because of this, I turned to eastern religions. I searched with the Buddhist and the Hare Krishnas. I was even into yoga.

During this time, the Bible was with me through the important events of life. I read it and I wished to understand it. One day I noticed a Baptist Church had located near our home. I knew I would visit it. This happened in 1998 when we brought our children to the Children’s Bible Week organized in the summer. From then on, we went to church. A first I doubtfully listened to the preaching. However, when I heard that I should not compare myself to my neighbors, but to Jesus, I came to realize what I really was. Then I knew what God expected of us, that we should get saved. If we love someone, we fulfill their desires.

Because of this, on January 3, 1999, I invited Jesus into my heart and gave myself to Him. From then on, my life became complete. I found what I had been searching for. Christ is with me and nothing better can happen to me. I am grateful to Him with my whole heart for everything that happens to me, and I give all the glory to Him because only He is worthy of praise.
